400 Years in the Making ![]() The short stories in Jamestowne's Uncovered Treasures are about the early years of the Jamestown Colony. The characters are real people who came to the first permanent English settlement in the New World. Each story is about a real artifact uncovered by the Jamestown Rediscovery archaeologists from the site of the James Fort, built in 1607. The stories themselves are fictional but could possibly have happened. Many true historical facts are included in these stories. These facts come from maps, journals and letters taken from a series of books. JAMESTOWN REDISCOVERY I - VII, published by the Association for the Preservation of of Virginia Antiquities (APVA). The artifacts uncovered and the facts known are combined with some imagination to create interesting stories about life in Virginia some 400 years ago. While you enjoy the stories, you can learn a lot about life in Colonial America. ![]() ![]() | Return Home | Contents Page | About the Author, Mrs. Judy M. Brown | VA SOL | VA SOL Author, J.
