     During her forty-year career in education, Judy Brown taught youth in all grades one through twelve.  She was an elementary school administrator and for fifteen years was a supervisor of English/Language Arts in Newport News, Virginia. 

     After retirement Mrs. Brown joined the first group of volunteers working at the Jamestown Rediscovery archaelolgical project at Jamestown Island.  This ongoing project is sponsored by the Association for Preservation of Virginia Antiquities (APVA)

     A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Judy Brown is devoted to the crafts and culture of the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina.  She received her undergraduate degree from Emory and Henry College in Virginia and a graduate degree at the College of William and Mary.  She and her husband, Stan, have three grown children ,Bly, Jan and Mac, and three grandchildren.

     Judy Brown's interest in education continues.  She currently supervises student teachers in the Williamsburg area schools for the School of Education at the College of William and Mary.
